Free swimming camp for differently-abled and underprivileged

Overwhelming response for the thirteenth free-swimming coaching camp for differently abled and underprivileged, which is being held at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy Swimming Pool. The three-week camp will conclude on February 22.

BELGAUM: Overwhelming response for the thirteenth free-swimming coaching camp for differently-abled and underprivileged, which is being held at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy Swimming Pool. The three-week camp will conclude on February 22.
Nearly 212 children from various categories like physically challenged, Blind, Mentally Retarded, Deaf and Dumb, Orphans and tribals are taking part in the camp. The organisers have provided free transport, Kit, Staple Diet and Health Check up apart from free Swimming training to all the participants. About 30 coaches and 20 volunteers from College of Business Administration Lingaraj College are going all out in their effort to provide best possible training to these swimmers.
Umesh Kalghatgi is the swimming coach who has dedicated his life to train these children. He has trained hundreds of physically challenged swimmers who gone on to represent the country including fifteen-year-old Moin Junnedi who recently represented the country in the Junior Para swimming team. “Through sports like swimming people learn discipline and also gets an opportunity to make name and fame. If they excel they can also get jobs” added Umesh Kalghatgi.
